Dear fellow home decorator enthusiast,

Like many people who have visited my website, you are looking for creative and inexpensive ways to decorate your windows.

After all, your windows are a major part of your home.  Most people want to cover them up with inexpensive coverings and say, "That's it."

I believe windows should be considered the "eyes to your home", much like your own eyes are the windows to your soul.  They should make a statement of who you are and the mood you want to set for the room.  Elegant, whimsical, fun, simple....you get the idea.

Do you have arched windows that you have no idea what to do with?  What about basement windows that are usually forgotten about?  Or are you simply looking for a unique idea for any window in your home?

If you would like to find out how to spruce up an ordinary curtain, or dress up a plain wall around your window, or create a cornice or valance your friends will be amazed you created, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

These two windows were accented with floral swags instead of traditional valances or curtains. The swags complement the bedspread and wallpaper border and adds character to the room.      These two windows were accented with floral swags instead of traditional valances or curtains.  The swags complement the bedspread and wallpaper border and helps add some character to the room.

Aloha! My name is Molly St. Claire and I have been a home decorator for over 30 years.  I have lived in many states from the east coast to the west, so I have been exposed to many different decorating trends.  With each move, my creativity grew and people told me my homes should have been featured in House Beautiful.

Up until 1992, I sewed most of my window coverings.  Then I discovered stenciling and it changed my world!  Through the encouragement of my friends and family, I started my own decorating business in the spring of 1993, specializing in stenciling, faux finishes, Trompe L'Oeil (meaning, fool the eye), sponge painting, murals, and window treatments.

I was a member of The Stencil Artisan's League, Inc. (SALI) for six years.  In July 1994, nationally renowned stencilers from SALI juried my stenciling, and I passed their certification program for stenciling walls.  At that time, I was the only stenciler in the state of Oregon to achieve that distinction.

My résumé includes working for an interior decorator, a restaurant, a clothing store, a TV station (the background for their news anchors), a bed and breakfast inn, as well as many homeowners who wanted something "special" done in their home.  They loved my innovative ideas.

Bear with me now and think for a moment….What if your windows could talk?  What do you think they would say to you?  They would probably tell you, "Hey, Mr. or Ms. Home Decorator, things are a bit drab up here.  It sure would be nice if you added some color or pizzazz!"

With my expertise, I can show you how to make your window treatments look fabulous!  And the best part is, it will save you lots of money.

These window coverings are very elegant, yet were simple and inexpensive to create!  The draped valance and jabots are attached to a board that is attached to the wall with "L" brackets.

You are about to discover:

  • How using inexpensive items such as ribbon or jewelry can make your windows unique
  • And the best part is, it will cost you very little!
  • That all basement windows are not created equal
  • Yet these ideas are so simple, you can do it yourself in less than 48 hours!

plain area some color without sacrificing the beautiful view.
